"I'm so happy. I'm happy for the fans in Boston, I'm happy for Johnny Pesky, for Bill Buckner, for (Bob) Stanley and (Calvin) Schiraldi and all the great Red Sox players who can now be remembered for the great players that they were."-2004 Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling
I think if you're Red Sox, well, it's something you're born with, and affection you have." - Johnny Pesky

Friday 9/30 Wells, Wells, Wells.... Look what we have here! Boomer steps up when needed, 7IP, 3ER,
5K Sox & Yanks tied with two to play...Unbelievable I was outside Fenway tonight and there must have been 200-300 Cops patrolling the area. Riot gear, muzzled dogs, horseback, command centers, undercovers- they had it all. I don't know if I want to say good work or overdone. Cleveland loses to White Sox scrub team, Sox & Yanks one up on Wild Card Race An Airplane named after Big Papi?
Thursday 9/29 MVPapi....
Amazing...Simply Amazing.....
Papi knocks home game winner in bottom of 9th
Papi for MVP! We owe it all to Papi this season for sure. We wouldn't have a fighting chance without him on our side. He has carried this team since the first pitch of the season.
Papelbon seems to rise to the occassion when needed most. This kid has ice water in his veins.. 2.2IP, 0ER, 3H
One .. two...three four five...
A little bit of Manny.. in my life (2 Run HR) A little bit of Myers...by my side (1.1IP, 0ER) A little bit of Jonathan is all I need (2.2IP, OER) A little bit of Johnny...all night long (3 for 5, Steal in 9th) A little bit of Papi... here I am (3 for 5, 3RBI, 3R) A little bit of luck gives us a win (How we won this game is beyond me) Sox sign Mike Stanton, Just for 4 days (Not eligible for Post Season) Wednesday 9/28 Sox pretty much embarrassed by Toronto Lose an essential game 7-2 One game back in division, tied for wild card with CLE Arroyo got shelled, Sox offense a no show.
Sherry & Wally @ Fenway Sept 6, 2005 Wally loved the shirt!! Tuesday 9/27 They love me, They love me not
Roller coaster ride continues, Sox split, Yanks Lose, Tied up
Wakefield splendid in the matinee, Schilling so-so in the night cap
Wakefield 7IP, 0ER, 3H Schilling 6.1IP, 5ER,10H
Francona is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't when it comes to our bullpen. I think it's reasonable to question some of his moves when it comes to yesterday's games but the bottom line is that he is trying to manage an altogether ineffective bullpen. He has a tough job ahead of him the next few days.
All Square
P layoff Race Heats Up Even More
This race isn't big enough for the three of us.
*Do note that there is a possibility of all three teams listed above making the playoffs. This scenario is based on the possibility of the White Sox losing their division and finishing with a worse record then NY and Boston. A tie with either Boston or New York would result in a one game wild card playoff. A three way tie would result in an AL East Playoff game followed by the loser playing a wild card game. Monday 9/26 Monday nights game is rained out
Doubleheader Tuesday 1:00 Wakefield 7:00 Schilling
The Red Sox soap opera continues.
It seems to get more and more interesting every year.
Seven Left, Tied for first in the division. 1/2 Game out of the Wild Card. Wells will need surgery after season Friday 9/23-Sunday 9/25
A much needed sweep puts Sox tied for division.
It is going to be an amazing week of baseball. Stay tuned.
Thank you Baltimorians (Or is it Baltonians?)...
Camden Yards should be renamed Fenway Yards when the Sox come to town. The stadium was filled with about 95% Red Sox fans during this weekends series If you haven not had an opportunity to get to that ballpark I suggest you make a plan to next season. It is an amazing baseball stadium. Palmeiro, you dirty rat: Fingers Tejada as culprit who gave him a strange substance. Officials tested the substance and it was nothing more then vitamin B-12. Thursday 9/22 A much needed day off for the Red Sox
Positives for the upcoming Baltimore series:
We will not see
Rodrigo Lopez
Keith Foulke will not pitch the rest of the 2005 season.
Feeling down & Out?

Wednesday 9/21 Slip Sliding Away
Not only the division but our wild card hopes as well
Sox fall to 1/2 game behind in the division and one full game in the wild card after losing 2 of 3 to Tampa Bay ..........Disgusting!
Many reasons to be pessimistic after Sox blow it in the 8th
Timlin cannot pitch with inherited runners on base Wakefield pitches a great game but all in vein Manny jogs to first again on a play he may have beaten out
Yankees lead the AL East:
Before you Panic there are still reasons to stay positive: The Sox play their final 7 games at home, we are 50-24 at home and the Yankees are 38-36 on the road. The fact that we play the Yankees in the final series in our opinion is a very good thing. It gives us the opportunity to take back games we very well may need thus controlling our own fate. Today is a much needed day off, the Sox have played 30 straight games without a day for a break. This thing isn't over by any means. Time to show our support! Tuesday 9/20 We still got game!
Sox crush the ball and walk away with a much needed Win 15-2
Bombs Away: Manny- 2HR's, Ortiz- 2HR's
Nixon & Varitek come alive tonight as well
Schilling was very good but when you score 13 runs pitching performances usually fall to the back page. It was however a very positive outing for Curt- 7IP, 2ER, 6H, 7K.
Wish we could have saved a few of these runs for a rainy day. Hopefully this is the catalyst we need to get things moving in the right direction! Boston Traffic Update: Heading North over the Zakim Bridge after work today? Seek an alternate route as 1000's of Sox fans have reportedly been jumping off the bridge throughout the day causing major traffic delays. Not an unusual problem this time of year.
Monday 9/19
Time to start Believing or Time to Panic?
Sox lead in AL East to 1/2 Game
Lose a must win game to TB 8-7, Too Many Mistakes to list in this one
Renteria continues to make terrible plays in the field. Ortiz continues to be our offensive charge, Solo HR, 4RBI's Damon struggling in the field
Wells struggled big time tonight. 2 2/3, 4ER, 10H
Will this team wakeup?
Yanks continue to win, Cleveland will be the wild card winner so its the division or bust! Positive Note- Craig Hansen pitched a scoreless inning Yesterday was the first time in over two years the Red Sox & Patriots lost on the same day. Sunday 9/18 Sox crushed 12-3
Oakland makes a statement, At least Yanks lose
Clement gets burned 1.1IP, 7ER, 8H Saturday 9/17
Manntastic
Manny hits monster blast and Sox hold on, 2-1
Manny was also responsible for the other run with a single in the 1st
Friday 9/16 Manny hits em home
Manny HBP in 10th to win game for Sox
Wakefield is dazzling again, Pitches 9 solid innings
Manny is all smiles after being hit by a pitch to win the game
Just another night for MVPapi, Solo HR
Thursday 9/15 Things are getting a little uncomfortable around here.
Sox lose, Yanks Win.. Lead to 1 1/2 games
Schilling, not Thrilling... 6.2IP, 4ER
Curt showed some promise as he buckled down after the first two innings but we don't have enough time left to sugar coat anything anymore as we need an ace today or October will be spent on the couch watching the Yankees.
Wednesday 9/14
He does it again!
Papi hits another clutch HR to win the game, 5-3 Sox
Graffanino steps up, 3 for 4 with a two run HR Bullpen is solid, Bradford & Timlin each with a scoreless inning Wells delivers a good outing 7IP, 3ER
Bad News Tonight- Gabe Kapler ruptures his heel, out for the season.
Tuesday 9/13 Not our night Sox dropped 9-3, nothing worked for us tonight High Point: Papi had another HR Low Points: Clement gave up 6ER, Foulke was a joke- 2ER, 1IP, 2BB..Renteria commits two errors. Monday 9/12 Big Papi, You complete me! Papi hits another game winner, this one in the 11th Its all about Pap & Papi tonight: Jonathan Paplebon (Probably the game MVP)- 3IP, 0ER, 0H Paplebon turns into a man, gets his first major league win..Congrats. Whoooaaa...Papi... Ramirez also responsible for contributing with a 2 run shot.. Foulke N' Timlin, a couple of lame ducks. Timlin lets up 3 Run Shot, Foulke lets up a hit while only facing two batters both combine to blow a 5 run lead. Luckily we got Papi or we would all be probably be cursing these two all day.... Yanks would host Sox in tie breaker if needed Sunday 9/11, We will Never Forget.
If you appreciate the game at all, you must tip your hat today.
I hate the Yankees probably more then the plague or salmonella but if you have any respect for the game you must say today was a splendid duel. Yeah we got the short end of the stick but its all about entertainment folks and today was a fun one. Sox lose 1-0
Wakefield was amazing, Johnson was tremendous Wakefield, 8IP, 1ER, 12K, 3H (Career high for K's) Johnson, 7IP, 0ER, 8K, 1H
This game could have went either way, Sox lose a great pitching battle 1-0
Personally I don't think dropping 2 of 3 is anything to be too upset about. The performances by Schilling and Wakefield are two very positive things to take from this weekend. We only dropped one game to NY who really needs to play A+ baseball to catch us with 19 games remaining. Saturday 9/10 The glass is half full
Schilling is lights out, 8IP, 2ER, Sox Roll 9-2
A very good sign for post season hopes today as
Curt looks like the guy we once knew!
Manny brightens our day, 2 for 4 Solo HR, Leads Sox to a W
Sox are coming alive on the mound lately. Things are looking good, today at least. All smiles in Red Sox Nation. Friday 9/9 Sox fall down the Well
Outplayed by Yankees on all angles tonight, 1 of 3 we will get them tomorrow day
when Schill takes the mound. Wells, 5.2IP, 5ER....Not a good day for the Sox..
Fri- 7:05 Wells (12-6,
4.24) vs RHP Aaron Small (6-0, 2.42) UPN-38/ESPN
Thursday 9/8
No offense, but the Sox bats didn't show up last night
Downed 3-0, head to the Bronx to kick some behind!
Angels pitcher, Paul Byrd flies through Sox lineup
Wednesday 9/7
Forward Progress
Sox take another step towards our goal, Win 3-2
Lots of love when we are winning
Millar- Solo Shot Ortiz-2 for 3, 2RBI
Pitching strong again:
Arroyo-8IP,3ER Timlin 1IP, 0ER
Tuesday 9/6 ~You can count on Papi~ He may be the most clutch hitter I have ever seen in a Sox uniform! Papi delivers game winning hit in bottom of 9th with two outs. Ortiz does it again, Sox win 3-2 on Papi HR Papi wins it but Wakefield get the game ball because of a complete game. 9IP, 2ER, 7K performance! Another deep start by our rotation, a very good sign. Schilling family hosting nine from New Orleans Monday 9/5
Sox downed 5-3 against Chi Sox in make up game
``I felt as strong when I came out of the game as I did when I went in,'' said Schilling, whose 118 pitches matched a season high.- (AP Link above) Sunday 9/4 Sox win 5-1
Saturday 9/3 Sox win 7-6
Friday 9/2 Sox lose to Baltimore 6-3
Thursday 9/1
Wicked Good Series
Sox sweep D'Rays on a two HR night by Olerud
Old timer night at Fenway as Olerud drives in Six.
Home Sweep Home
Sox have won 19 of 20 at home!
Paplebon was used in the setup role tonight and Timlin closed. Most likely a sign of what we can expect until Foulke proves he is effective.
